01Make the offers comparable.
Use the same device, capacity, order quantity, printing, packaging and delivery destination in both requests. Keep unknowns visible. A cheap offer with an unspecified card configuration is not yet comparable with a defined offer.
| Buying question | Ask each supplier for | What a price alone misses |
|---|---|---|
| Will it work in our product? | A sample reference and agreed device test | A speed label does not establish compatibility |
| What quality is agreed? | Configuration-specific performance and acceptance terms | Same capacity does not mean the same working life |
| What if cards fail? | Warranty scope, claim evidence and remedy | A percentage without period or definition is unclear |
| What arrives? | Card marking, quantity, packing and content version | Printing and loading may change the scope |
| Can we repeat the order? | The approved reference and change-confirmation process | Traceability is not a promise of permanently fixed components |
02Read the quality commitment carefully.
Ask whether a failure figure is a measured past result, a target or an agreed maximum failure rate. Agree its period, number of cards used to calculate the rate, exclusions and remedy. These are different kinds of evidence. Never compare one supplier’s lifetime claim with another supplier’s first-year commitment as if they were the same.
03Where YOULEN’s offer adds value.
YOULEN supplies cards for security, in-vehicle and audio equipment, with a one-year warranty under the agreed terms. Depending on the selected plan, the agreed upper limit for failures during the first year of use can be 8‰ (0.8%), 5‰ (0.5%) or 3‰ (0.3%). These are configuration-specific business commitments, not historical failure-rate statistics or one guarantee for every card. Ask us to identify the applicable commitment, sample reference and claim handling in your offer.
04Use a decision record, not an automatic winner.
Record the conditions each supplier has confirmed, the evidence still missing and the consequence for your equipment. A lower card price can be sensible when the requirement is modest. A card with suitable endurance and agreed quality terms can be worth more when daily recording or field replacement makes failure more costly. The right decision depends on the product and the agreed evidence.
Our reply covers the proposed capacity, speed, flash memory, temperature, write endurance and warranty. See how we answer the questions behind your order.
