In-vehicle Electronics

Memory cards for recording, navigation and audio in the vehicle.

For vehicle-electronics makers, brands and distributors. Dashcams, car stereos, navigation units and CarPlay devices use storage differently; the card choice follows the job it performs.

Start with what the device does.

Dashcams & vehicle recorders

Repeated video recording makes write endurance part of the buying decision. Recording hours, channels and the temperature inside the vehicle all deserve attention.

CarPlay devices with card support

For units that include a memory card slot, tell us what it stores: music, files, updates or footage from a recording function. CarPlay support alone does not define a memory card requirement.

Cards in your product

Choose for the job the card does in the vehicle.

Driving and parking footage

Front and rear cameras write to the same card in many recorders. Include every channel and parking mode when planning capacity and endurance. Check how protected clips affect space for new recordings.

Heat and power changes

Write endurance does not establish temperature suitability. Check the recorder’s operating requirements and sample behaviour at startup, shutdown and restart. Vehicle conditions need their own discussion.

Music, maps and device files

Cards used mainly for playback need a different balance from loop recording. Confirm the unit’s capacity limit, file layout and authorised content before paying for specifications the product may not use.

Which capacity is worth comparing?

32GB — for offline maps and music in a compatible car stereo or navigation unit. Check the file package and slot requirements; this is a different workload from loop recording.

64GB — a starting point for routine dashcam recording. Include every camera channel, parking mode and protected clips when calculating the space needed.

These are starting points, not a compatibility guarantee. Check the device’s capacity limit and file system. For recording, choose write endurance, speed and temperature range separately.

Estimate recording storage first

Inside YOULEN

Loop recording on real dashcams.

On our test racks, dashcams keep recording as new footage overwrites older files. This puts the card through the repeated writing cycle it will encounter in a recording device.

Tell us your device model and recording requirements so we can discuss a suitable card and the checks for your project.

A quality commitment behind the card.

Every card is fully tested before shipment. YOULEN supplies cards with a one-year warranty. Different quoted options carry agreed first-year failure-rate limits; confirm the commitment for the option you choose.
