Does a camera record to its card without internet? Check before handover.

A handover test for installers: separate local recording, app access and power.

Some cameras keep recording to a card after losing a connection. This does not mean every model works without a network or that its app can play recordings while offline. Check the model and settings.

01Three different conditions.

An internet outage, a lost Wi-Fi connection and a power failure are different. A powered camera may record but stop sending alerts. Without backup power, a power failure stops the device. Check the manual for supported microSD capacity and file system. Local recording does not guarantee remote access without internet.

02Test with recorded times.

First confirm a recent recording. In an authorized test, disconnect only the connection being evaluated and keep power on. Note start and end times and create an identifiable scene. Reconnect, then find and play that interval using the manufacturer's supported method.

03The app name is not the camera model.

Yoosee and iCSee do not by themselves establish card capacity, format or offline behavior. Record the hardware model and firmware. Another camera using the same app is not a substitute for this test. Test internet loss and Wi-Fi disconnection separately and identify what was disconnected.

04Hand over a verifiable result.

Record which functions were tested: recording, playback, alerts and remote access. Include recording mode and how to save important clips. For commercial installations, this avoids promising a function the installed system has not demonstrated.
